At LKH Psychology we offer evidence based and ethical interventions for your mental health concerns. The key is to learn as much as you can about yourself and your mental illness, so that you are equipped with the knowledge that is relevant to you to make lasting changes to your psychological health. Whilst we believe we have the knowledge to help with this, we also believe that only you can make the decisions that are right for you given this knowledge as you have lived your life and know yourself better than anyone else.
Our psychologists have had years of experience treating children with many disorders. We work with children and their parents to achieve the best results and incorporate group sessions from time to time in our programs to assist with faster recovery, giving both parents and children an opportunity to learn in a group environment from the experiences of others.
The fee per 50-minute psychological session is $210.00, with a Medicare rebate of $124.50. The fee is lower than the recommended rate of $246.00 provided by the Australian Psychological Society (APS), so this service is provided at a discount. To receive a rebate, you must have a valid Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) from your physician. The gap or 'out-of-pocket' fee with a valid MHCP is $85.50 per session. If you are in financial hardship and cannot afford the fees as stated above, please raise this issue with Dr Babakhani when making a booking. She will consider your concerns in light of an assessment.
While you may elect to receive a receipt to take to a Medicare office for your rebate, we are also able to process the rebate online. If you wish for the rebate to be processed by the practice, please ensure that your details, including your bank account and address, are up to date with Medicare. Please also note that the only forms of payment accepted are cash or credit/debit card (VISA/Mastercard/American Express); we do not utilise EFTPOS facilities within this practice.
There is also a holding fee of $50.00 that is to be paid at the first session. This will be refunded back to you at the end of your therapy so long as we are given sufficient notice (24 hours) for cancellations. If we are not given notice, the holding fee will be taken as a cancellation fee, and another holding fee must be paid at your next appointment.
